Students showcase businesses at Entrepreneurship Expo

Students explore minor in entrepreneurship, compete in business plan competition

Lincoln University, PA – Student-run businesses in cosmetology, fashion, photography, culinary arts, graphic design, health and wellness, and audio communication were on display at the 2015 Entrepreneurship Expo yesterday at the Student Union Building.

Students who attended the expo learned the steps to starting a business. Students networked with like-minded entrepreneurs.

Five students from the Fall 2015 entrepreneurship class presented their business ideas. Each student’s business plan was judged by professional representatives.

Winners along with their year and majors of the business plan competition were: First Place, Christopher Daches , Junior – Management; Second Place, Breahya Overton, Senior – Management; Third place, Nichole Preston, Junior –  Accounting; Fourth place, Dante’ Wade, Junior – Management; and Fifth Place, Chauntel Seymour, Junior – Management.

Each student’s business plan was judged by professional representatives. The judges were: Dr. Oswald Richards of Lincoln’s business department, Mr. Rodney Carroll from Business Interface, LLC, Mr. Daniel Krause from Chester County SCORE, and Mr. John Daniel from Chester County SCORE. Dr. Emmanuel Ihejirika was the judging official.

This was a first-time event hosted by the Department of Business & Entrepreneurial Studies, according to event organizer Dr. Hara Wright-Smith, Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship.
