- Grim Hall Room 104
In addition to teaching at the post-secondary level, I am also a middle school educator with Prince George’s County Public Schools in Maryland. I have over 18 years of professional teaching experience. My students at the secondary level, won several broadcast awards, were featured in a local newspaper article and appeared on the national television program the TODAY show.
In addition to my professional teaching experience, I earned a doctoral degree in Mass Communication and Media Studies from Howard University in 2013. I’ve also worked as a news reporter for an NBC affiliate in Las Vegas, Nevada. In fact, my work as a former journalist coupled with my educational background allows me to share with students my academic knowledge and professional experiences in the field of mass communication and media. More specifically, it allows me to share my experiences as a professional journalist of color.
