Residence Halls Close for Winter Break
All Residence halls are officially closed at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 11, 2015.
2015 Winter Break Closing Procedure Checklist
Roommates should ensure that the following procedures are completed prior to departure. The last person to leave the room, apartment and or suite is responsible for making sure that all these items have been completed. Failure to complete any steps will result in a $200 fine charged to your student account. The Residence Life staff will review your room after your departure and your account will be billed for any excessive trash or damages found. All residents are required to complete the following procedures in addition to check-out procedures by 8 p.m. Friday, December 11, 2015 (NO EXCEPTIONS)!

Make sure your room is clean and tidy

Dispose of all perishable food and trash

Unplug all appliances: printers, refrigerators and power surges. Note: defrost refrigerators 24 hours in advance before estimated departure time. (Not in the hallway due to Fire Hazard)

Close and lock windows (Blinds down and open)/Shades up

Clear heating unit of all items

Turn off all lights and lock doors

Take all valuable items with you – such as checkbooks, prescriptions, televisions, game systems, and computers, etc. Re-entry into the building will not be granted for any reason during the winter break. Any items considered to be of value to you needs to be taken home. Otherwise a Release of Liability Form needs to be completed at the time of check out. The University is officially closed Friday, December 11, 2015, through Sunday, January 10, 2016. NO STUDENT WILL BE ALLOWED TO REMAIN IN THE RESIDENCE HALLS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Please begin to prepare your travel arrangements and plan accordingly because staying is not an option

Thompson Hospitality will close on Friday, December 11, 2015, after the dinner hour.

Thompson Hospitality will resume on Sunday, January 10, 2016, at 11 a.m.

All Students must return their room Key/suite key (if applicable) to your RA or RHC in person and complete appropriate paperwork in order to officially check out.

For students not returning for the spring 2016 semester please make sure all your belongings have been removed from the building and the room is in the same order that you found it in prior to your arrival. Please do not leave anything in the room at all. We will not be responsible for items left behind.
