Lincoln to Start Summer Language Program
Suzuno Asanumo, student coordinator of KCP International Language Institute, in Tokyo, Japan will visit Lincoln University from April 4-12, 2002, to discuss Lincoln's intensive Japanese language program with University faculty staff, and students.
In addition, Asanumo's visit will facilitate preparatory work on Lincoln's new Summer Language Institute. Japanese will be one of the languages offered in the summer language program. While at Lincoln, Asanumo also will speak to the class of Dr. Emmanuel D. Babatunde, professor of sociology and anthropology. Entitled "American and Japanese Social Comparison," the two-hour class will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., on Tuesday, April 9, in Dickey Hall, room 239.
Asanumo has been with KCP International since its inception in the early 1990s. Lincoln sends an average of three students per year to KCP for Japanese language study, according to Constance Lundy, director of International Programs and Services for the University. Asanumo's visit to Lincoln is a follow-up to the site visit made two weeks by Lundy to Toyko.
