LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~ Lincoln University will break ground for a $26.1 million International Cultural Center (ICC) on Saturday, April 19 at noon at the construction site, near the university’s baseball field.
“The impact that this building will have on the recruitment of arts major is immeasurable,” Lincoln University President Ivory V. Nelson said. “Today there is a serious competition among postsecondary institutions to attract students who major in the arts.
“Students and parents have options and make choices based on what colleges offer, and that includes facilities. For Lincoln University to compete and attract students, modern facilities like the International Cultural Center are a must.”
The cost for the building includes design, construction, furniture, fixtures and equipment. The building is scheduled for occupancy in a year.
When complete, the 60,000-square-foot facility will feature a state-of-the-art auditorium for the performing arts with seating for over 1,000 patrons, conference rooms, a language laboratory, an art gallery and a multipurpose room.
