LINCOLN UNIVERSITY ENJOYS SUCCESSFUL OPEN HOUSE FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS, PARENTS

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~ Dr. William Bynum, vice president for student affairs and enrollment management, told a record crowd of prospective high school students, their parents and chaperons at Spring Open House that Lincoln University provides an inviting and nurturing environment that ensures success after graduation. 

“There’s no place like Lincoln University,” Dr. Bynum said. “It is a place where your educational experience will be rich and rewarding. You will be more than a number and you will be taught and prepared to achieve your life’s goals. We are a family, and we want you to come here.”

According to Admissions Director Michael Taylor, the event attracted over 1,000 visitors and was designed to showcase the university’s academic offerings and campus life.

“The Open House was a tremendous success,” Taylor said. “We were delighted to have students from many high schools on our campus, and we were extremely happy to see the excitement and enthusiasm the students showed towards their interest in Lincoln University.”

The visitors listened to remarks from administrators and student leaders and were treated to musical presentations from student organizations, including the newly formed marching band.

The high school students and parents toured the campus and a visited the various academic departments.
Open House ended with on-site admissions for students.


Founded in 1854, Lincoln University is a premier, historically Black University that combines the best elements of a liberal arts and sciences-based undergraduate core curriculum and selected graduate programs to meet the needs of those living in a highly technological and global society.  The University is nationally recognized as a major producer of African Americans with undergraduate degrees in the physical sciences (biology, chemistry and physics); computer and informational sciences; biological and life sciences.  Lincoln has an enrollment of 2,423 undergraduate and graduate students.

Lincoln University, the nation’s first degree-granting Historically Black College and University (HBCU), educates and empowers students to lead their communities and change the world. Lincoln offers a rigorous liberal arts education to a diverse student body of approximately 2,200 men and women in more than 35 undergraduate and graduate programs.
