LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~ Lincoln University will hold its annual Spring Open House from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 9 at the new International Cultural Center, located on the main campus in southern Chester County. Inclusive is a tour of the campus and an address from Lincoln University President Ivory V. Nelson.
Organized by the Office of Admissions, Open House is an event that provides an opportunity for prospective students and their parents or guardians to meet with university faculty, staff, and students and to gain firsthand information about the university’s various academic programs and extracurricular activities.
According to Germel Clarke, interim director of Admissions, Open House has become a popular attraction for prospective students. Clarke said attendance has increased annually and she expects the trend to continue.
Clarke attributes two factors that help continue to sustain the interest of prospective students. She said one factor is the university’s enhancement of campus life with the revival of football and a marching band. Another is the establishment of five new academic centers of excellence that include Great Research Educational Awareness and Training (GREAT) for Minority Health, Teacher Education and Urban Pedagogy, Business and Information Technology, Mass Communications and the Lincoln-Barnes Visual Arts, a collaborative art program with the Barnes Foundation.
“The students, faculty and staff help the admissions staff make Spring Open House an unforgettable opportunity,” said Clarke. “Prospective students and families explore all that Lincoln University has to offer through campus tours an academic fair and current student interaction.”
