“On the Wings of Love,” “Love Ballad” and “Stay With Me Tonight,” are among Osborne’s big hits as a solo artist and lead singer for R&B group L.T.D

DETAILS:Singer Jeffrey Osborne will perform many of his hit songs at Lincoln’s 150th Anniversary Gala in Washington, D.C. Osborne has been on the cutting edge of the R&B and pop music scene for more than three decades. Osborne recently introduced a new CD, Music Is Life. From his years with the soul/R&B group L.T.D(Love, Togetherness and Devotion) in the 1970s, to a successful solo career that began in 1982, Osborne is clearly one of America’s most recognizable voices. With such hits as “Stay With Me Tonight,” “On the Wings of Love” and “We’re Going All The Way,” Osborne’s love songs have achieved popularity on both the R&B and pop charts. Osborne’s first taste of success came as lead singer for L.T.D. with the 1976 hit, “Love Ballad.” The song was number one on Billboard’s R &B chart and 20th on the magazine’s pop chart.
