The Students First Campaign made its presence known at the 12th Annual Frank “Tick” Coleman Luncheon, Saturday April 19 at the Springfield Country Club in Springfield, PA.

Campaign manager, Kevan Turman ’01, MSR ‘08, brought greetings on behalf of Dr. Robert R. Jennings at the Philadelphia AALU Chapter-sponsored gathering to honor five of The Lincoln University’s distinguished alumni and also reiterated the need for alumni to aggressively support the $10 million Campaign effort.

The Lincoln University’s Board Chair, Kimberly Lloyd ‘94, who was also in attendance, created great excitement when she challenged event attendees to match her generosity. She pulled out a $100 bill and promised to give tenfold if each table could match the initial $100 at a minimum. This resulted in a flurry of gifts and the University received $2710.00. At last count The Students First campaign received over $5000 in gifts and pledges, which included a $750 gift from both the Coleman and Goodwin Family.

The Students First Campaign was established to raise $6 million for merit-based student scholarships and $4 million for need-based student scholarships. We encourage all alumni, faculty, staff, administration and friends of The Lincoln University to get on board and make their gift today. Please contact the Office of Institutional Advancement 484-365-7440.
