FOUNDERS DAY OBSERVANCE 2013 ALUMNI CHAPTER LEADERSHIP FORUM – 08/09 February 2013

SCHEDULE

Friday, February 8th

10:00 AM  Convocation/ICC – Presentation by SGA of History of Lincoln

12:30 PM  Luncheon – Gallery/ICC – Only Chapter Officers and any BOT members who may already be on campus

3:00 PM Debate (Topic TBD)/ICC – Honor Society vs Forensic Society in Ware Center Auditorium

6:00 PM Dinner for Alumni Chapter Leaders in Wellness Center Lobby to include introduction of the Assistant Alumni Director and the Regional Engagement Officers

Saturday, February 9th

7:45 AM  Breakfast/ICC Gallery for Alumni Chapter Leaders and Board of Trustee members with President’s Briefing

9:00AM – 11:45AM  Alumni Chapter Leaders Forum –Workshops in ICC 103/104

Workshops  9:00 AM to 10:00 AM

  • Engagement strategies and activities – this workshop will highlight ways to recruit students, secure internships & job placements and increase involvement in athletic/cultural events. [Admissions & Career Services]
  • Your Alumni Relations Office – the details of a vital partnership. This workshop will focus on details and parameters of the volunteer-staff partnership resulting in a comprehensive document highlighting rights and responsibilities of both leadership volunteers and alumni relations staff. Workshops 10:15 AM to 11:15 AM

  • Making the ‘ask’ and exceeding your goal – a workshop on hands-on fund-raising at every level. This workshop will feature sharing best practices on all aspects of fund-raising, from the planning to the wrap-up. It will include event based fund-raising as well as making an individual ask. [Alumni Relations]
  • “Let Your Voice be Heard” – a workshop on the responsibilities and joys of on-going publicity for chapters. This workshop will feature the need for Chapter Reporters with submission guidelines; highlight best practices for how to get the most publicity for chapter activities and events and provide an understanding of the communication deadlines. [Communications and Public Relations]
