Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Delta Delta Chapter Announces Geraldine Kinney Scholarship for Finer Womanhood

The ladies of Delta Delta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. are sponsoring its annual Geraldine Kinney Scholarship for Finer Womanhood.

The $250 scholarship, which is named for Geraldine Kinney, a charter founder of Zeta Phi Beta at Lincoln, who has dedicated more than 50 years of service aiding in the progression and betterment of the organization, is awarded to a female sophomore, junior or returning senior with a 3.0 and above G.P.A. that best exudes characteristics of finer womanhood.

“Scholarship and service are two of the principals that Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. were founded upon,” said Quandalasha Fambro, president of Delta Delta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.  “By giving out this scholarship we are doing a service to the Lincoln community because there are many deserving students who lack sufficient funds to continue further their education. We hope that this scholarship touches the life of a deserving student by coming at the right time to aid in the student’s educational expenses.”

The scholarship winner will be announced at the Finer Womanhood Scholarship Luncheon on March 9, 2013 at 12:20PM in Student Union Building Multipurpose Room.

All applications must be submitted to Zeta Phi Beta mailbox in Student Life and Development Office in the Student Union Building no later than March 4, 2013.  Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Interested applicants should adhere to the following criteria below.

Criteria:

The scholarship will be awarded to a female who meet the following criteria:

  • Ÿ Sophomores, Juniors and returning Seniors
  • Ÿ Scholarship
  • Ÿ Minimum GPA Requirement 3.0
  • Ÿ Extracurricular activity participation
  • Ÿ Leadership qualities
  • ŸInterpersonal qualities as alluded by the student’s reference
  • Essay answering the following questions:
    • Describe your involvement in both on and off campus communities
    • Explain why you feel that you are deserving of this scholarship
    • What are some characteristics of Finer Womanhood and how do you exude them?

Please answer the above questions fully and thoroughly. Also, be sure to include the following information as a heading:
