A preacher, teacher, workshop leader, and motivational speaker. Dr. Cory Jones has served the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Burlington, NJ as Senior Pastor since December 2012. The hand of God has been evident in this union of pastor and people. During Dr. Jones’ tenure Tabernacle Baptist Church (TBC) has experienced exponential growth in all facets of ministry. Hundreds of individuals and families have been touched by Dr. Jones’ teaching and preaching ministry and as a result have united with TBC. The TBC worship experience has evolved to reach persons of all ages so that they can have an intimate relationship with God. In addition, the church’s outreach has stretched to reach new demographics including the adoption of a school in Ghana. Through the leadership of Dr. Cory Jones, TBC has been intentional in developing into a “Christ-Centered Village” that ministers to the whole person. Congregational Fitness was established to encourage physical fitness within the congregation and surrounding community. The Counseling Center was created to minister to the emotional and mental needs of both members and nonmembers. Hallelujah HYPE Night was created as a safe and fun alternative to Halloween for families throughout Burlington County to participate in. These are just a few examples of the revitalizing ministry that has taken place. Dr. Jones has been given the opportunity to share in ministry throughout the country. He is a much sought after speaker and has served in a variety of capacities. Currently, Dr. Jones serves as the Recording Secretary for the General Baptist Convention of New Jersey (GBCNJ). He also leads the New and Young Ministers Division. In addition to his GBCNJ responsibilities, Dr. Jones is also active in the Lott Carey Foreign Missions Convention. Educationally, Dr. Jones received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master of Divinity from the Morehouse School of Religion at the Interdenominational Theological Center, and a Doctor of Ministry from Beeson Divinity School at Samford University. Throughout his life, Dr. Jones has dedicated himself to God and the local church. A native of Los Angeles, he was licensed to preach by Dr. Melvin V. Wade Sr. at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. He also served the Greater St. Paul Baptist Church of Oakland as Youth Pastor and the Jackson Memorial Baptist Church of Atlanta as Assistant Pastor. Dr. Jones is a lifelong learner, sports enthusiast, and music lover. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He is the husband to Deborah Jones and the proud father of a beautiful girl named Dakota Aubree Jones.
