Bello with 20 saves in loss

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – With all three goalkeepers unavailable, the Lincoln women's soccer team turned to a field player between the pipes as the Lions fell to Mercy, 12-0, Saturday in East Coast Conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Mercy scored six goals in each half with 12 different players finding the back of the net.
  • Senior Sarata Bello (Sagamu, Nigeria/Remo Methodist) played for her collegiate game in goal for the Lions.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

  • Lincoln finished with two shots, both on goal, as freshman Parker Moss (Elmira, N.Y. /Elmira) and Kirsten Edwards (Baltimore, Md./Mercy) each had a shot on goal.
  • Bello faced 43 shots – 32 of which were on goal, making 20 saves in the loss.
  • Twenty fouls were called in the game, 12 on Mercy and eight on Lincoln.
  • Mercy finished with 14 corner kicks.
