The Butler does it again

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA – For the second consecutive week, a Lincoln University track and field athlete has been honored by the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association.

Junior Glenn Butler, Jr. (Greenburgh, N.Y./White Plains) was named the CIAA Food Lion Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced today (Tuesday, January 25, 2022). It's the second time this season, Butler has earned the CIAA's weekly field honor.

"It's always a good thing to see your student athletes achieve personal records and gaining the attention of the conference with CIAA field athlete of the week accolades," said Lincoln University Head Track & Field Coach Roland Whiting. "Glenn is exciting to watch. I am looking forward to the continued development that Glenn and Coach Gordon are putting together."

Butler recorded a pair of NCAA provisional qualifying marks at the NYC Gotham Cup, winning the high jump with a mark of 2.04 (6'8.25") meters and the long jump with a mark of 7.61 (24'11.75") meters. He ranks third nationally in the long jump and sixteenth in Division II in the high jump, while leading the CIAA in both events this indoor season.
