Coker takes a pair from softball

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA – Lincoln University softball team dropped a pair of non-conference games at Coker (Hartsville, NC) on Tuesday.


GAME ONE: Coker 15, Lincoln 0
The Cobras scored in three of their turns at the plate to register the non-conference win.
 
Freshman Aniyah Isaac (New Brunswick, N.J./New Brunswick) and MacKienzee Rasheed (Cincinnati, Ohio/Walnut Hills) each recorded a hit with Isaac posting a double. Freshman Kevyn Jones (Baltimore, Md./Paul Laurence Dunbar) also reached base via a walk.
 
Junior Amaya Townsend (Port Jervis, N.Y./Port Jervis), 0-3, took the loss – allowing eight earned runs on six hits. She recorded two strikeouts and two walks.


GAME TWO: COKER 17, LINCOLN 0
Freshman Cailyn Dove (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck Senior) recorded the only Lincoln hit, a two-out single in the second inning as Lincoln dropped the nightcap of the doubleheader. Rasheed was the Lions' only other base runner, working a leadoff walk in the fourth inning.
 
Freshman Cate Liskey (Richland, Pa./Eastern Lebanon ), 0-3, allowed eight runs – seven earned – on six hits over two innings.
 
Lincoln (0-8) gets a day off after opening the season with eight games in four days, and will return to action 1 p.m. Thursday traveling to Queens.
