Four personal records highlight track meet

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – The Lincoln University track & field teams kicked off the outdoor season Saturday at the University of Mount Olive Trojan Challenge.

"Although this was our first outdoor meet, it was a good first start that gives the athletes excitement for the remainder of the season," said Roland Whiting, Lincoln University director of track & field. "It was exciting to see the athletes travel and perform well in our first outdoor event."

Sophomore Glenn Butler, Jr. (Greenburgh, N.Y./White Plains) was victorious in the long jump, marking the third time this season he won the event. The indoor long jump All-American posted the winning distance of 7.40 meters on his final attempt.

Four other student-athletes – Tymique Goodman (Gwynn Oak, Md./Woodlawn), 800 meters, (Gwynn Oak, Md./Woodlawn), Da'Avionce Rodriguez (Lancaster, Pa. /J.P. McCaskey), 100 meters, (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey), Charlette Hardy (Philadelphia, Pa. /Overbrook), 400 meters, (Philadelphia, Pa./Overbrook), and Lacendria Pulley (Essex, Md./Baltimore Polytech), 100 meters (Essex, Md./Baltimore Polytech) posted personal best in their respective events.

Lincoln returns to action April 3 at the Rowan Invitational.
