Guadalupe earns pre-season honor

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa - Lincoln University senior catcher Max Guadalupe (Brooklyn, N.Y./HS of Telecommunication Arts) was one of the 58 baseball players named to the 2021 Black College Nines' Elite pre-season baseball team.

Black College Nines is a baseball news website dedicated to preserving the legacy of Historically Black College and Universities baseball.

"This is very deserving for him as he enters his last year at Lincoln," said Lincoln University head baseball coach Anthony Pla. "There are some great names on this list and we would love to have more. After all the dedication into his game, this is a well-deserved honor. We are all really happy to see Max get the spotlight he deserves. Representing Lincoln is something we all take pride in, and this is just another stepping stone for our program and Max."

In the pandemic shortened season, Guadalupe started all seven games, slashing .296/.424/.370 with two doubles, five runs scored, and was tied for a team-high seven RBI.

Selections were made based upon research and statistical information provided by Black College Nines with assistance from baseball programs' coaching staffs and sports information directors.

Lincoln opens the 2021 season with a doubleheader February 13 at Mid-Atlantic Christian.
