Hogan, Bowen with RBI in loss

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA – The Lincoln University baseball team opened its three-game East Coast Conference series in Buffalo, NY against D'Youville with a 7-3 loss.

D'Youville raced out to a 5-0 lead after two inning thanks in part to a four-run first that was capped by a two-out, two-run home run.

Freshman Wesley Hogan (Washington, D.C./Maret) got the Lions on the board in the top of the sixth inning with a two-out triple, scoring junior Alex Jones (Bear Del./Appoquinimink) – who had a two-out single. Junior DeAndre Bowens (Rock Hill, N.Y./Monticello) connected on a two-run bomb in the top of the seventh, scoring freshman Jalen Godette (Queens Village, N.Y./Queens Prep Academy), pulling Lincoln to within 5-3.
