To the Lincoln University Community,
Following a hearing before Judge Mahon on Friday, July 24th, an Order was issued by the Court to take the following actions that we are bound to adhere to and accordingly will be taking the following actions:
- First, Dr. Allen has been reinstated to the Office of President of Lincoln University effective Friday, July 24, 2020, with all of the privileges and emoluments associated with such office and position.
- Second, the Special Meeting previously scheduled for July 31, 2020 has been cancelled.
- Third, this communication shall serve as formal Notice that a Special Meeting of the Board shall occur on August 6, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. This meeting will be held through electronic means and further details will follow as to access for Board members, including the Commonwealth Trustees and the Governor’s Designee, as well as the public at large.
- Fourth, only the following issues and in the order presented below shall be addressed by the Board at the Special Meeting occurring on August 6, 2020:
- (1) the seating of the Commonwealth Trustees and the Governor’s designee.
- (2) the rejection of the letters of resignation submitted by Trustees Judith Fitzgerald and Robert Allen.
- (3) the issue of whether Dr. Allen should be extended a new employment agreement with the University; and
- (4) if necessary, the selection of an Interim President if the decision is made not to extend Dr. Allen a new employment agreement.
We look forward to welcoming our new members to the Board of Trustees.
