LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – Master of Science in Business graduate students and Business and Entrepreneurial Studies undergraduate students recently studied at the historical and renowned University of Burgos and Escuela de Espanol from June 26-July 7. The students were accompanied by Oswald Richards, business professor and director of the MSB program, and Emmanuel Ihejirika, assistant professor in business.

At the University of Burgos, MSB students earned course credit for Strategic Management taught by Richards. Through their coursework, students learned the skills necessary to formulate and implement organizational strategies. Eduardo Escudero taught a second course, European Economy. Their European Economy studies focused on the economics of the European Union and its current challenges such as global competition, trade, and monetary policy.
At the Escuela de Espanol, Daniel Martinez instructed BES students in Spanish Grammar and Communication. Ihejirika taught Senior Seminar, which is the capstone course for Lincoln University’s business department. Important topics such as marketing penetration, productivity efficiencies, and financial stability were discussed amongst others.
Outside of the classroom, students visited world-famous cultural attractions in the region.

“Students expanded their cultural experiences beyond the historical sites in Burgos,” Richards said. These sites included the Guggenheim Museum, San Sebastián, Madrid, and Barcelona.
In addition to their coursework and cultural experiences, students visited two major Burgos companies, the Grupo Antolin and Hiperbaric.
“Visits to foreign companies are an extremely important part of the study abroad experiences,” Richards said. Both companies have operations in North, South, and Central America as well as Europe, Asia, and Africa.
