Martinez Breaks School Record as Lady Lions Compete at Towson Tiger Invitational

Diana Martinez (Kissimmee, Fla./Kissimmee HS) broke a school record as the Lincoln University women's indoor track and field team opened the 2017 portion of their season over the weekend, competing in the Towson Tiger Invitational on Saturday at the Armory in New York City.
 
Martinez broke her own school record in the shot put with a throw of 11.91 meters (39' 1").  The freshman thrower eclipsed her own mark of 37'7.25" set back in December at the Bow-Tie Classic at Ursinus College.  Martinez finished in 12th place in a field that included athletes from several Division I schools including Delaware, Towson, Navy, Howard and Temple amongst others.  Amongst non-division I throwers in the event, Martinez had the fourth longest toss.
