MBB Preview: Bowie State

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA - The Lincoln University men's basketball looks to snap a two-game losing streak, while remaining in first place of the CIAA's North Division, when the Lions host Bowie State 4 p.m. Saturday.

SERIES HISTORY
Lincoln has lost seven of its last eight games, including a 82-76 decision earlier this season, to Bowie State. The Lions trail the overall series, 20-8.

MR. TWO-WAY
Junior Zahrion Blue (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) leads the team, and is second in the CIAA, averaging 19.0 points per game. He has scored at least 15 points in 19 of the team's 22 games, including 10 times of at least 20 points. Earlier this year, Blue reached 1,000 career points.

He is currently sixth in the conference with 7.4 rebounds and eighth with 2.9 assists.

WINDEX MEN
Lincoln is one of the top rebounding teams in the CIAA, leading the league with 14.9 offensive rebounds and is third with 25.1 defensive rebounds. The 14.9 offensive boards are fifth nationally. 

The Lions are second in rebounding margin, outrebounding their opponents by 6.1 boards per game. Two players - Alex Nunnally (Washington, D.C./Cesar Chavez Parkside) (8th, 7.2 rpg) and Blue (6th, 7.4 rpg) - are ranked in the top 10 of the conference. 

SUPER FROSH
Freshman point guard Reggie Hudson (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond's) is growing into his role with the Lions. Since being inserted into the starting lineup, Lincoln is 9-3. He leads the team with 70 assists and 34 steals. 

In conference action, Hudson is third on the team with 9.9 points with 43 assists, 38 rebounds and 22 steals. 

HIGH OCTANE
The Lincoln University men's basketball team is third in the CIAA with 73.5 points per game. The Lions are one of six conference teams with a positive scoring margin, second in the league, outscoring teams by 4.4 points per game. 

DEFENSE
The Lions thrives on defense to hold their opponents to 60 points or less. As Lincoln has won 12 of its 15 games, the team has held eights opponents to 60 points or less, and is 7-1 in those contests.

Lincoln is also fourth in defensive field goal percentage, holding teams to just 40.9 percent from the field. 

ATTENDANCE
Fans are showing up to Manuel Rivero this season as Lincoln is second in the CIAA in home attendance, averaging 903 fans. It could play a huge role in Lincoln's 7-2 home record this season. The loss to Livingstone Wednesday, snapped a seven-game winning streak.
