WIN NUMBER ONE
With the season-opening victory over Salem, head coach Corey Lowery earned his first NCAA coaching victory. His 14 years of head coaching experience have all came at the junior college level.
A GOOD DAY-DAY COMING
Senior Deaquan Williams (Camden, N.J./Camden) returns for his senior season looking to become the third player in school history with 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds for his career. After his 11-point, 8-rebound effort against Salem, Williams has 955 points and 779 rebounds.
Williams was the CIAA Defensive Player of the Year last season ago after leading the conference with 11.2 rebounds/game and 16 double-doubles. His rebounding average was fifth nationally in NCAA Division II.
SHOOTING OUT THE LIGHTS(EY)
Junior Bernard Lightsey (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) picked up this season where he left off a season ago. Despite missing the first part of the preseason, Lightsey tallied a team-high 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting (58.3 percent) in the victory over Salem. It was the eighth time in his career, Lightsey scored at least 20 points in a game.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE
Junior Ja'Zere Noel (Woodbury, N.J./Woodbury) introduced himself to the Lincoln fans with his first career double-double. A transfer from D2 Jefferson College, Noel came off the bench with 20 points and 10 rebounds. It was a career best in both categories.
NOT FEELING BLUE
Junior Zahrion Blue (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) came into the season after leading the Lions with 104 assists and was second with 15.1 rebounds. The lightly recruited prospect continued to make an impact on the court despite battling foul trouble. Blue scored the team's first seven points and was then forced to watch the rest of the first half with a pair of fouls.
He finished with 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting (53.8 percent) in just 17 minutes of action.
THE GENERAL
