McRae Selected as Advanced Placement Panelist
Vanessa McRae | Photo by Bob WilliamsVanessa McRae, director of the Center for Undergraduate Research and Student Engagement, will be joining a team of panelists June 14 to June 15 in Tampa, Florida, to review and recommend new Advanced Placement research standards. McRae is 1 of 9 higher education administrators selected by the College Board to serve as a standard-setting panelist. “It’s a large responsibility, and I am honored to have been chosen,” said McRae.
The College Board's Advanced Placement program brings students, teachers, colleges, and universities together to enable driven students to pursue college-level studies. Through the program, students have the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both—while still in high school.
Hull Joins Students in Tree Planting Effort

Together, with 33 volunteers from the local community, Hull and her students planted over 1,000 trees at the White Clay Creek watershed in Landenberg.
“Service learning opportunities like the one provided in Landenberg allows students to practice what they’ve learned in their academic studies,” said Hull.
Stinson Speaks at HBCU Athletic Director Panel Discussion
Harry Stinson Harry Stinson, Lincoln’s director of athletics, recently joined athletic directors from Maryland-based HBCUs and Jonathan Yates, creator of the online series “The Culture of Sports,” for a panel discussion held June 8 at the Anne Arundel County House Delegation of the Maryland General Assembly.
Reed Smith LLP, a global law firm, sponsored the discussion where Stinson and the participants discussed the many choices, challenges, and opportunities athletic directors face at HBCUs.
“Each of us brought great ideas to the table,” said Stinson. “I see a bright future for HBCUs athletic departments.”
After the discussion, participants were given the opportunity to meet members of the Maryland General Assembly, Congress, and the press.
