Richardson records pair of hits

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA - The Lincoln University softball team dropped a non-conference doubleheader to West Chester Thursday at the LU Softball Complex.

GAME ONE: WEST CHESTER 14, LINCOLN 1
Freshman Irlynn Richardson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) recorded Lincoln's lone hit and scored the only run in the non-conference loss. She led the fourth off with a single, stole second, moved third on an error, and scored on a ground out by freshman Jarae Turner.

West Chester scored three in the first, four in the second, three in the third, and fourth in the fifth.

Freshman Tia Brown (Newark, N.Y./Newark) allowed 14 runs – 12 earned – on 11 hits with seven walks and two strikeouts.

GAME TWO: WEST CHESTER 15, LINCOLN 0
Richardson and freshman Cate Liskey (Richland, Pa./Eastern Lebanon ) were responsible for the two Lincoln hits as the Lions dropped the nightcap.

Richardson single and stole second in the first inning, while Liskey singled in the second.

Liskey allowed 15 runs – 11 earned – on 13 hits over five innings.

Lincoln returns to action noon Saturday in a pivotal Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association doubleheader, hosting Elizabeth City State.
