Thomas Earns Two All-CIAA Honors as Lions Finish Fifth at CIAA Indoor Championships

Freshman Isaiah Thomas (Philadelphia, Pa. / Bensalem) earned two all-conference honors as the Lincoln University men's indoor track asnd field team placed fifth at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Indoor Track and Field Championships on Monday at JDL Fasttrack in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
 
In addition to Thomas's two All-CIAA honors, senior Mike Brown (Norristown, Pa./Norristown Area) qualified for the IC4A Championships in the 200 meter dash and the Lions set a total of four personal best marks and a pair of season-bests.
 
The Lions finished with 30 total points in the meet, 26 points behind fourth place Johnson C. Smith University.  Virginia State University and defending champion St. Augustine's University finished in a tie for first place with 175.5 points.
 
The Lions earned their first all-conference honor in the last event on the first day of competition on Sunday, placing second in the Distance Medley Relay (DMR) with Thomas running the anchor leg.  Lincoln completed the race in 11:07.35, the fastest time run by a DMR team since 2014 and the third fastest in the program's NCAA Division II history.
