WSOC Preview: Daemen Wildcats

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. - The Lincoln University women's soccer team returns home 11 a.m. Sunday to resume East Coast Conference action against Daemen.

TEAMS: Lincoln enters the game at 0-4, while Daemen (2-3) is coming off a 3-1 victory in its ECC opener with D'Youville.

PLAYERS: Freshman Theresa Schmid (Ringelai, Germany/Gymnasium Freyung) tallied Lincoln's first goal of the season, a free kick, in the loss to Bloomfield. Freshman Saige Samuels (Laurel, Md. /Paint Branch) is leading the country with 14.75 saves per game.

Senior Sarata Bello (Sagamu, Nigeria/Remo Methodist) and freshman Parker Moss (Elmira, N.Y. /Elmira) are tied for the team lead with six shots, while Moss leads the team with five shots on goal.

Daemen freshman Baylin Tighe is the reigning ECC Rookie of the Week after helping the Wildcats to the D'Youville victory. She is one of six Daemen players to have scored a goal this season.

SERIES HISTORY: Daemen has won all three meetings between the two teams.

UP NEXT: Lincoln travels to Staten Island 3:30 p.m. Wednesday for an ECC game with the College of Staten Island. It will be the first meeting between the two teams.
