LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – The Lincoln University baseball team dropped a non-conference doubleheader to Goldey-Beacom Wednesday at Doyle Field in Hockessin, De.

GAME ONE: GOLDEY-BEACOM 1, LINCOLN 0
In a pitcher's duel, the Lincoln baseball team came up short as Goldey-Beacom scored a single run in the second inning and made it hold up for the one-run victory.
A one-out single brought home the lone tally as the Lightning got threat going on a one-out single with a stolen base and wild pitch.
Lincoln had its own scoring opportunity in the top portion of the second as freshman Wesley Hogan (Washington, D.C./Maret) opened the frame with a walk and sophomore Hilman Truss (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton West) singled. Freshman Miguel Agramonte (Fallston, Md./Fallston) moved the runners over with a sacrifice bunt, but Hogan was out at home.
A senior Carvonte Williams single loaded the bases, however, the inning came to an end with a double play.
Truss went 2-for-2 with a walk, while Hogan registered the lone extra-base hit, a double.
Freshman Gabriel Sanchez (Anthony, N.M/Anthony), 2-3, was saddled with the loss after allowing one earned run on five hits with five walks and a pair of strikeouts in five innings of action.
GAME TWO: GOLDEY-BEACOM 14, LINCOLN 2
Goldey-Beacom did all of its damage over the first four innings as the Lightning secured the doubleheader sweep with the 14-2 win.
Hogan got the scoring going with a two-out RBI single, scoring sophomore Jefry Azcona (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic) – who opened the first inning with a single.
However, GBC answered with three runs in its portion of the inning.
After the first two batters reached – Azcona with a walk and sophomore Damaal Sands (Nassau, Bahamas/Montverde Academy (FL)) was hit by a pitch – in the third inning and then moved up on a wild pitch, junior Alex Jones (Bear Del./Appoquinimink) brought home a run with a sacrifice fly.
The Lightning blew the game open with nine runs in the third inning. GBC added two more insurance runs in the fourth.
Sophomore Luis Miguel Reinoso (Beltsville, Md./High Point), 0-5, allowed nine runs – eight earned – on eight hits over 2 1/3 innings. He walked two and struck out one.
Lincoln (4-13) returns to action Noon Saturday, traveling to Philadelphia for a non-conference doubleheader with Chesnut Hill.
