  Coronavirus Statement

To address the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic directly impacting students’ ability to receive in-person assistance the Office of Financial aid has made all in-person meetings by appointment only to maintain Public Health and Safety Guidelines, as well as providing virtual meetings for all students learning remotely. Students that are on campus may request either an in-person meeting with the available Financial Aid Team Members or a virtual meeting directly with their counselor. Students learning remotely should schedule a meeting directly with their counselor unless their counselor has no upcoming available times, in which the student should request the first available meeting with another counselor.

In-office appointments are available Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Virtual appointments are available Monday through Thursday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.  Counselors are assigned by the student's last name. Click the appropriate group below to schedule a meeting:

At times the decisions you will be making will be challenging. Lincoln University’s Office of Financial Aid is dedicated to helping students and families through the financial aid process. Each student’s family circumstances are unique, and by forming a close working relationship with our students, we are able to offer guidance throughout this process.

File your financial aid applications early, starting in October for the upcoming academic year. Always apply early and follow up. College education is one of the most important investments of your life. You will need to consider both the quality and cost of education. Please use this website in its entirety to assist you in understanding, applying, and completing the required Financial Aid processes at Lincoln University. Lincoln University Financial Aid staff is here to assist students with the process of applying for financial aid. Over 90 percent of the students at Lincoln University receive some type of financial assistance. We have a team of experienced and caring financial aid professionals available during office hours to assist with your questions and requests. Appointments are necessary for in office meetings in order to maintain public health and safety guidelines due to the COVID-19 Pandemic; however, you may schedule a virtual meeting directly with your counselor if you are unable to physically be on campus. Please note that the policies on this website are subject to revision without notice or obligation.

FAFSA Information

  • Lincoln University's Federal School Code is 003290.
  • Lincoln's priority filing date for the FAFSA is April 1. Students who have completed a FAFSA by this date will be considered first for financial aid.
  • Other types of aid, scholarships or grants may require a separate application through the department or organization providing the aid. Please check with the department or organization providing the scholarship or grant for their specific requirements.

New and Transfer Students Information

  • Complete your FAFSA on studentaid.gov by the priority filing deadline of April 1.
  • Make sure your bill is finalized by July 1 in order to be cleared financially.
    • The balance must be covered entirely or set up on a payment plan through the Bursar's Office.
  • If you are a new borrower, you must complete the Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Loan Entrance Counseling at studentaid.gov in order for your Federal Direct Loans to be disbursed to your account.
    • If you do not want a loan or any of the aid you were offered in your package, you must notify the Office of Financial Aid of this decision.
  • If your parent is interested in applying for a Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan, they can apply online at studentaid.gov after May 1 for the coming academic year.
    • Your parent must use their own log in information on studentaid.gov in order to apply for the loan.
  • Don't forget to keep an eye out on your Lincoln email account!
    • All official communication between you and us will come through there.
    • Check out the Admitted Students page for detailed instructions and information regarding enrollment processes as a new Lincoln Lion.

Returning Students Financial Aid Checklist

  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at studentaid.gov. Applications open annually on October 1.
    • We recommend you use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) when completing the tax information for both parent and student.
  • If you receive any sort of university scholarship, like a merit or athletic scholarship, make sure your FAFSA is submitted before April 1 and all financial aid processes have been completed in order to receive your funds.
    • Failure to apply before April 1 will impact your eligibilty for Financial Aid.
    • This includes verification. If you have been selected for verification, it must be completed before you can be awarded for the coming academic year. You can view any missing documents on your WebAdvisor account.
  • Returning students are generally awarded in May for the coming academic year. Offer letters will be available on WebAdvisor and students will be notified through their Lincoln email when offer letters have been made available.
    • Please review your offer letter as soon as possible to determine the best way to handle your bill.
    • If you do not want a Federal Direct Loan, you must notify the Office of Financial Aid in writing.
