LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~ Robert and Valerie Morris, whose separate careers can be described as models of success, will share their expertise with Lincoln University students when they appear as presenters at the Gary Michelson Executive Lecture Series on Monday, October 22 in Dickey Hall.
The Gary Michelson Executive Lecture Series, named in honor of a Lincoln University alumnus, invites nationally known executives to speak to students on various topics impacting business and industry.
Robert Morris is the founder and president of the Center for Diversity Assessments, Analysis and Audits, a New York-based advisory and consulting company that develops business based, sustainable and cost justifiable strategies for managing staff and employees. The company also deals with multicultural, diversity and emerging market strategies that enhance the talent pool, increase productivity and expand individual responsibility.
Robert Morris had extensive management experience with Fortune 500 companies, including Revlon, Proctor & Gamble and IBM. He also served as president of SimplyTV.com, an interactive online-on-demand television entertainment network.
Valerie Morris, on the other hand, is a distinguished former journalist who won an Emmy Award as an anchor on domestic and international business on CNN. She left the cable network to pursue another passion, financial literacy for women and people of color.
Her broadcast career spans more than 35 years and began in San Francisco at stations KRON and KGO, where she was a researcher and general assignment reporter. She later was the morning drive anchor at KCBS radio and anchor at KCBS-TV in Lost Angeles.
Valerie Morris has received numerous awards for reporting, including three Emmy awards for both breaking news events and special reports. She was a major contributor to the KCBS reporting team that won a Peabody Award in 1989 for coverage of the earthquake that shook California and destroyed a portion of the San Francisco Bay Bridge.
The Morrises live in Tucson, Arizona.
