LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA. - (September 2006) ~ Lincoln University will hold its annual Fall Open House at Manuel Rivero Hall Gymnasium at 9 a.m. on Friday, October 20, 2006.
Organized by the Office of Admissions, Open House is an event that provides an opportunity for prospective students and their parents or guardians to meet with university faculty, staff, and students and to gain firsthand information about the university’s academic programs and extracurricular activities.
According to Mike Taylor, Director of Admissions, Open House has become a popular attraction for prospective students. Last year, for example, the event set an attendance record as more than 800 students visited the campus.
Taylor expects that figure to increase due in part to the interest generated by the university’s announced enhancement of campus life with the revival of a football team and marching band. Additionally, the university has established five new academic centers of excellence, including biotech, materials and environmental sciences, teacher education and urban pedagogy, business and information technology, mass communications and a collaborative art program with the Barnes Foundation.
“The Fall Open House is a major recruiting event,” Taylor said. “The staff in admissions makes every effort to ensure it will be a valuable and rewarding experience for prospective students and their parents or guardians.”
The schedule of activities is as follows:
- 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Registration at Manuel Rivero Hall.
- 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Welcome Session by Administrators
- 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Campus Tours: Students will be escorted around campus
