WHO: Lincoln University of the Pennsylvania System of Higher Education — Founded in 1854 as America's First Historically Black University

WHAT: 2nd Annual Lincoln Legacy Awards Gala

WHEN: Friday, October 22, 2004 TIME: 6 p.m. – 11 p.m.

WHERE: Wyndham Philadelphia at Franklin Plaza, Wyndham Ballroom
17th and Race Streets, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

DETAILS: A highlight of the program will include Lincoln University honoring four individuals for their distinguished careers and achievements. They are:

  • Ms. Renee’ Amoore, founder and president of The Amoore Group, Inc., a conglomerate consisting of four thriving entities. Amoore has earned a reputation as a successful entrepreneur, healthcare advocate, and political advisor.
  • Dr. Frank (Tick) Coleman, Emeritus Trustee and 1935 alumnus of Lincoln, who served for many leaders in leadership roles at the University including as Special Assistant to the President for Alumni Giving and as Alumni Relations Director.
  • Rev. Canon Thomas W.S. Logan, Sr., 1935 Lincoln graduate, Rector Emeritus, Calvary Church in Philadelphia, devoted over 60 years of dedicated ministry to the Episcopal Diocese and served much of his time on commissions and various community groups. 
  • Dr. Marvin Wachman, Honorary Chancellor of Temple University, once served as the president of both Lincoln University and Temple University. A nationally acclaimed educator, Dr. Wachman will soon publish his biography The Education of a University President. 

Over 500 guests – including dignitaries and Lincoln alumni – are expected to attend the gala. Tickets for the formal affair are $250.00 per person.
