The Soraya M. Coley Distinguished Service Award –Tracey Hunter Hayes ’87
Tracey Hunter Hayes joined the staff at Lincoln University in 2007 as an Associate Professor and Director of the Langston Hughes Memorial Library. He received the B.S. degree from Lincoln University, Master of Library Science from the University of Pittsburgh, and Master of Divinity from Virginia Union University and served as a member of the Lincoln University Board of Trustees from 2002 through 2007. Under Hunter Hayes’s guidance, the operation of the Langston Hughes Memorial Library has seen major changes in technology and services to better accommodate the needs of the student body and the community.
The Hildrus A. Poindexter Distinguished Research Award – Dr. Karen A. Baskerville
Dr. Karen Baskerville joined the full-time teaching staff at Lincoln University in 2006 as an Assistant Professor of Biology. Dr. Baskerville received the B.A. in Chemistry from Northwestern University and her Ph.D. in Anatomy and Neurobiology from the University of Tennessee. Dr. Baskerville is currently completing scientifically significant work on two funded research projects, one from the Pennsylvania Department of Health and one from the National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities. She has ably served on numerous faculty standing committees.
The Henry G. Cornwell Distinguished Teaching Award – Dr. Patricia Joseph
Dr. Patricia Joseph, professor of Sociology and Anthropology, joined the teaching staff at Lincoln University in 1985. She received her B.A. in Social Science from Cheyney University, and the Master of Social Work and Ph.D. from the Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. Dr. Joseph served as chair of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology from 2001 through 2010 and as Co-Chair of the Middle States Self-Study Committee. She currently serves the Lincoln University student population as an academic advisor, and is also serving as Coordinator of the First Year Experience Committee (FYE). She has performed important service on key faculty standing committees. Dr. Joseph is held in high regard by students and colleagues.
