LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA – The University City campus of Lincoln University will be closed Sept. 25 and 26 during the Philadelphia visit of Pope Francis. University City will resume normal operating hours Sept. 28 at 8 a.m.
The University City campus, which offers a variety of graduate programs for working-adult learners most evenings and weekends, is located in the heart of the educational corridor on Market Street in Philadelphia, across from the 30th Street SEPTA station.
The University City campus is within the controlled traffic block for the Papal visit, and its proximity to 30th Street SEPTA station will have a significant impact on traffic.
“It makes logical business sense for our campus to be closed during the major celebration in the city,” said Dr. Charles Williams, director of the graduate school. “Most of our students travel, for convenience to school, using SEPTA.”
