LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Education recently named Chalwe Z. Diallo, a 2013 Lincoln graduate as a recipient of the Horace Mann Bond-Leslie Pinckney Hill Scholarship for graduate studies.
The scholarship, which is funded by the General Assembly, is named for two distinguished past presidents of Lincoln University and Cheyney University, Horace Mann Bond and Leslie Pinckney Hill, respectively, will cover full tuition, fees and textbooks for Diallo’s graduate study in in the Master of Business Administration program at Pennsylvania State University beginning this fall.
The program awards financial assistance to highly qualified graduates of Lincoln and Cheyney who pursue pre-professional programs in business, law, medicine, podiatry, and dentistry at Pennsylvania State University, the University of Pittsburgh and Temple University.
In 1983, the program originated as part of an agreement between the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights to desegregate the Commonwealth’s public institutions of higher education.
Diallo, who was a Horace Mann Bond Honors Program student, graduated magna cum laude and received her bachelor’s of science degree in chemistry from Lincoln two years ago.
