Banned Books Week
The Langston Hughes Memorial Library is proud to partner with the Horace Mann Bond Honors Program to participate in a read-out for the National Banned Books Week. The read-out will be the central feature for Banned Books Week at Langston Hughes Memorial Library. Students, faculty and staff are invited to participate by reading a passage from their favorite banned book that have been banned and or challenged anywhere in the world . After the passage is read we will take a few minutes to discuss the passage and a bit of the history behind why the book was banned or challenged. The library will also showcase the banned books that is currently part of the library collection. If you’re available come by and be a part of this event.
