Lincoln University, Pa. – Rising seventh through ninth grade students are invited to participate in a Summer Transportation Institute at Lincoln University from July 9 to July 27, 2018. This program is an intense and structured learning opportunity for 12- to 14-year-olds in the secondary school systems in Pennsylvania and nearby states. Each participant will receive a full scholarship to participate in the three-week summer program, will live in a university residence hall and eat in the university dining hall. The application deadline is June 19.

Sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, the curriculum of the residential Institute exposes students to all modes of transportation and adventures such as highway design, transportation of people and cargo, inter-modal transport systems, laws, regulations, safety, security, and career opportunities. Additionally, students will participate in computer training, field trips and group projects. The purpose of the Institute is to stimulate interest in and create awareness of career opportunities that exist in the transportation industry.
