LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – In early June, Isaiah Thomas, an accounting and mass communications major,  joined Jonathan Harris, a coordinator in Lincoln’s Office of Male Achievement for a career day event at a high school in Maryland.

Together, they hit the road and traveled four hours to Potomac High School in Maryland’s Prince George’s County to engage with curious and enthusiastic students.

“It’s always a pleasure meeting high school students who are excited about education,” said Harris.

At the event, Harris and Thomas shared their life experiences with 9th, 10th and 11th grade students. Thomas, who is a member of Lincoln’s track team and a new community advisor in Lincoln’s Office of Male Achievement, shared his unique perspective of being a full time student at Lincoln University while working as an entrepreneur who owns his own clothing company, Stay Humble, Stay Hungry.

“To see someone like Thomas who is pursuing his education while running his own business really inspired the students,” said Harris.

Harris, a Prince George’s County native, shared his experiences as an area coordinator and a published author.

“I am very proud of Isaiah’s commitment to community engagement,” said Harris. “It is an important cornerstone of the Male Achievement Office.”
