Superior Court Judge to Speak at Lincoln University Public Forum

Lincoln University, Pa. – Lincoln will be hosting a public forum titled “Why the Constitution Matters to Us Today” with guest speaker Pennsylvania Superior Court Judge Carolyn H. Nichols.

Nichols was elected to a 10-year term in 2017. Previously, she was elected to the Philadelphia Common Pleas Court in 2011 and conducted felony jury trials in criminal court where she worked to protect the rights of crime victims, and the accused.

Nichols is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Judicial Council, and the International Association of Women Judges.  She has traveled abroad extensively to participate in cultural exchanges and dialogue with judges concerning constitutional and judicial reform. 

The forum is part of Lincoln University’s commitment to contributing to the cultural life of the local community as outlined in the University’s strategic plan.

The forum will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, Monday, September 17, at the International Cultural Center located at 1570 Baltimore Pike, Lincoln University, PA 19352.  

This free event is open to the public and sponsored by the Department of History, Political Science, & Philosophy and is part of Lincoln’s annual celebration of Constitution Day.
