LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa – Family members, friends, and loved ones will gather at the Ware Center Theater this weekend as graduating students from Lincoln University’s Upward Bound Program, pass the torch to future and current UB students.

The annual Senior Salute and Torch Ceremony will begin at 9 a.m., Saturday, March 16. During the ceremony, UB staff will highlight the hard work and accomplishments of their graduating seniors.
Former students will participate in the ceremony to share inspiring success stories credited to the program.
The symbolic passing of the torch during the ceremony will represent the passing of leadership from the graduating class to current students.
“Upward Bound challenges students to pledge and demonstrate the qualities of true leadership and professionalism,” said Upward Bound director Denis Baker. “The torch is a representation of the Upward Bound legacy that continues to shine forward for past, present, and future!”
Upward Bound is a pre-college, federally funded program for first-generation, low-income high school students. Its purpose is to provide students with the academic support necessary to successfully complete high school and enroll in post-secondary education.
