Lincoln University, PA –Lincoln University’s spoken-word poetry collective known on campus as I.S.P.I.T., will celebrate its 10-year anniversary with a performance at the International Cultural Center, Friday, April 12, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Titled “Revolution of Self,” the show celebrates and challenges the concept of self-love, inviting audience members to ask themselves, “Am I really living my best life?”
Performers include former and current I.S.P.I.T. members, group founder Rienne Scott, and Black Chakra, 1st place winner of the 2016 National Poetry Slam.
Students can purchase pre-sale tickets for $5 at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ispit-presents-revolution-tickets-58861055000. Admission at the door is $7 for students and $10 for non-students.
Formerly the Tolson Society, I.S.P.I.T. (Infinite Supply of Passionate and Intense Talent), welcomes poets, rappers, singers, writers, artists, photographers, and filmmakers. The group encourages creative expression across a variety of different genres and is committed to an open dialogue about contemporary issues pertaining to people of color.
