At No. 6, Lincoln University ranks in the Top 10 nationwide on the 2020-2021 Military Friendly® Schools survey—the longest-running, most comprehensive review of college and university investments in serving military and veteran students.

Military Spouse badgesThe rankings were compiled by the Military Friendly® Company, which has established standards that measure an organization’s commitment, effort, and success in creating sustainable and meaningful opportunity for the military community—including active duty, reserve and guard service members, veterans and military spouses.

Lincoln University exceeded Military Friendly’s benchmark standards and was given a 100% rating in six different categories: academic policies & compliance; admissions & orientation; culture & commitment; financial aid & assistance; graduation & career; and military student support & retention.

Of the 1,000 schools that participated in this year’s survey, 625 earned the Military Friendly School designation.

Currently, about 75 actively enrolled students are current service members: active or reserves, veterans, or their dependents.

“I believe part of the reason for our high ranking is the overall restructuring of Lincoln’s mission and purpose to return to our roots as a liberal arts institution,” says Tamarkius Roby '18, the Office of Veterans Affairs director. “Also, my office focuses on supporting them and providing a wide range of services—services that are not just limited to individuals who have educational benefits through the G.I. Bill, but to anyone who has served even a day in the U.S. military.

“That support begins with the admission process and continues through their graduation, with assistance that includes: registration, academic advising, financial literacy, advocacy on their behalf and counseling.

“We make sure they know what resources are available and follow-up with them to make sure they are as successful as possible at Lincoln University.”

The 2020-2021 Military Friendly® Schools list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine. The list can also be found at www.militaryfriendly.com.
