LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. - The Lincoln University baseball team kicks off a pivotal three-game East Coast Conference series against Queen College 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Lincoln University Baseball Field. Due to COVID restrictions, fans are not allow on campus.

With nine games remaining on the schedule, Lincoln (4-8 overall, 4-4 ECC) sits tied for fourth with Bridgeport in the conference. The Lions are one game in the loss column behind Mercy for third place. The top four teams qualify for the postseason tournament.
Lincoln has the ball in its own proverbial field as following the three-game series with Queens, the Lions will face Bridgeport and Mercy.
ROTATION
Junior Trevon Sutton (Chicago, Ill./Harlan Community Academy) (2-2, 5.76 ERA) is slated to pitch Friday's opener, followed by freshman Luis Miguel Reinoso (Beltsville, Md./High Point) (0-3, 10.80 ERA) and senior Rolando Alvarez (Brooklyn, N.Y./Nazareth Regional) (1-2, 4.38 ERA) on Saturday for the Lions.
Liam Pulsipher (2-1, 3.33 ERA), who is third in the ECC with 31 strikeouts, will probably pitch one of the nine-inning games. He has started all five games he has appeared. John Dougherty (0-1, 6.39 ERA) and Dylan Hughes (1-1, 4.38 ERA) will probably start the other two games. One wild card is Rob Backus (1-1, 3.60 ERA) has played since April 6 but started all three of his appearances.
THE BATS
Freshman Hilman Truss (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton West), the reigning ECC Rookie of the Week, is second in the conference in hitting with a .419 batting average. He is posting an impressive slash line .419/.490/.605 on the season with a team-high 18 RBI. Truss is doing his damage with runners in scoring position, hitting .556 (10-of-18) and his seven of his last nine in those situations.
Senior Elias Beltre (New York, N.Y./LAM International School) leads the ECC with three homers and is second on the team with a .375 batting average. Lincoln could start six players with a batting average over .300 this season.
Queens is led by Andrew Smith, who is slashing .340/.400/.528 with a team-high 10 RBI, while Teovaldo Estevez is slashing .310/.348/.548 with two home runs and six RBI. Colin Diez leads the team with nine stolen bases in 10 attempts and has walked a team-high 11 times.
