Lincoln picked sixth in North Division

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa.  – The Lincoln University football team was picked as the 10th best team in the 12-team Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association voting of CIAA coaches, the league announced today (July 22, 2021).
 
"The great thing about preseason predictions is that you have an opportunity to take the field a guaranteed 10 contests to determine your own fate," said Lincoln University head football coach Josh Dean. "We fully embrace the challenge of changing the fortune of this program with competitive, successful football. Which is what Lincoln University will begin to be known for."
 
The Lions were picked to finish last in the North Division, behind Bowie State, Chowan, Virginia State, Virginia Union, and Elizabeth City. In the South Division, Fayetteville State was picked to finish first, followed by Shaw, Johnson C. Smith, Winston-Salem State, Livingstone, and Saint Augustine's.
 
No Lincoln player was named to the 2021 Preseason All-CIAA Football team.
 
Lincoln finished the 2019 season at 0-10 overall, 0-7 in the CIAA.
