Samuels records 13 saves in loss

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. - Freshman Saige Samuels (Laurel, Md. /Paint Branch) finished with 13 saves as the Lincoln University women's soccer team opened the season with a 5-0 non-conference loss to Bloomfield Friday at the LU Aux Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Bloomfield took the early lead less than two minutes into the game to take the early lead.
  • The Bears tacked on a second goal in the 12th minute.
  • Bloomfield added a third goal with nine minutes remaining in the first half.
  • Less than 10 minutes into the second half, the Bears tallied a fourth goal, and then finished the scoring in the 84th minute.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

  • Lincoln finished with four shots on goal with freshman Parker Moss (Elmira, N.Y. /Elmira) (Elmira, N.Y.) recorded two of the four shots. Junior Kianna Lee (Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago/East Stroudsburg North (PA)) (Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago) and freshman Theresa Schmid (Ringelai, Germany/Gymnasium Freyung) (Ringelai, Germany) each recorded a shot on goal.
  • Bloomfield tallied 30 shots, 19 of which were on goal.
