WSOC falls to Saints

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA – The Lincoln University women's soccer team fell to D'Youville, 5-0, Thursday in East Coast Conference action in Buffalo, NY.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Saints held a slim 1-0 lead at halftime, thanks to a goal in the sixth minute. It was the fewest first-half goals allowed this season for Lincoln.
  • Four different D'Youville players scored in the second half, finding the back of the net in the 50th, 55th, 58th, and 62nd minutes.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

  • Junior Morgan Alverson (Gentry, Ark. /Westville (OK)) had Lincoln's lone shot and shot on goal.
  • Freshman Saige Samuels (Laurel, Md. /Paint Branch) finished with 15 saves in a match in which the Saints launched 37 total shots – 21 of which were on goal.
  • Lincoln trailed 7-1 in corner kicks.

WHAT'S NEXT

  • Lincoln concluded the 2021 season 1 p.m. Saturday traveling to Roberts Wesleyan.
