Ware Center for the Arts

The Ware Center for the Arts houses visual and performing arts, foreign languages and music programs, the College of Professional, Graduate, and Extended Studies offices, laboratories and classrooms. Teaching laboratories include a ceramic studio, 2D/3D design studio, printmaking studio, graphic arts studio, painting/drawing studio, 20-station language lab and music technology and clavinova labs. The facility also houses a 187-seat auditorium, fully equipped for digital recording and transmission. Completely renovated in 2008, the two-story, 23,020 gross square-foot building was originally constructed in 1965 with funds provided by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and is named in memory of Clara and John H. Ware, Jr., friends of the University.

Theater

  • The 187 seat theater contains three sections: right, center and left.
  • The hardwood stage measures 25’ wide by 22’ deep for performances.  Additional wing space of 24.5’ on stage right and stage left.
  • Large screen and rear projector.
  • Two backstage dressing rooms with private rest rooms.
  • Light and sound control booth located in the upper rear of the theater.

Classrooms

  • Ideal for workshops and meetings to accommodate up to 40 people.
  • Equipped with lectern, projector and screen.
