LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~ President Ivory V. Nelson has announced that Verizon executive Andrea L. Custis has been re-elected to the Lincoln University Board of Trustees. Custis’s four-year term ends in 2011.

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~ Dr. Admasu Tucho, assistant professor and acting assistant chair of the Education Department at Lincoln University, will make a presentation on October 18 at the annual conference of the African Studies Association in New York.
LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~ President Ivory Nelson has announced that Lincoln University has been awarded a two-year $199,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to develop the capacity of historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) to engage in the teaching and practice of culturally competent evaluation, focusing on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education programs.
LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~ The coronation of Mr. and Miss Lincoln University on Sunday, October 21 at 7 p.m. in Manuel Rivero Hall begins a week-long schedule of activities to celebrate Homecoming 2007 at Lincoln University.
The crowns will be passed to junior Milan Carter, Mr. Lincoln, and senior Tiffany Terry, Miss Lincoln. The coronation is free and open to the public.
LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~ Rumbidzai Tabvuma’s long-standing passion for public speaking is paying dividends for the Lincoln University senior. Tabvuma used her voluble skills to win the 34th Annual National Persuasive Oratorical Contest in Indianapolis, Indiana.
LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~ Milan K. Carter is back in the classroom at Lincoln University after an extremely busy summer, gaining firsthand experience as an intern at three venues. He called his summer a “worthy experience.”
LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~ Dr. Goro Nagase, professor of mathematics at Lincoln University, has established an endowment to provide scholarship to students majoring in mathematics and computer science. The endowment bears his name.
According to Dr. Nagase, the endowment has reached its goal of $25,000 of which he donated $20,000. He hopes the endowment will double with matching funds.
LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~ President Ivory V. Nelson has announced that Lincoln University has been awarded a five-year $209,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to introduce African American students to ecological research and to encourage them to pursue graduate studies through a mentoring program.
LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~ In his address to faculty, staff and students at University Convocation, President Ivory V. Nelson affirmed, “The state of the university is well.”
Noting the accomplishments of the faculty and the renovations and new construction that have taken place or under way to make the campus more student-friendly, Dr. Nelson told the students that they are attending the university during a historic period of growth and development.
LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~ It’s August and students have reported to the campus of Lincoln University to launch the institution’s 153rd academic year. It actually got under way with an orientation for the Class of 2011.
