LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~ Lincoln University will holds it annual Scholarship Golf Outing on Monday, June 25, 2007 at Wyncote Golf Club, Oxford, Pa. with registration at 7 a.m. and a shotgun start one hour later.

Proceeds from the event will help fund scholarships for academically worthy yet financially needed students at Lincoln University.

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~ The Philadelphia Chapter of the Alumni Association of Lincoln University (AALU) will host the Fifth Annual Dr. Frank “Tick” Coleman Awards Luncheon at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at the Holiday Inn Philadelphia Stadium in Philadelphia.

The luncheon celebrates outstanding alumni achievements and raises funds for student scholarships. Recipients of the award also have enthusiastically supported the University and the AALU.  This year’s honorees include:

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~ Lincoln University will host the 30th Annual Conference on Black History in Pennsylvania April 12-14, 2007 in Dickey Hall with Dr. Martin Kilson and Dr. Niara Sudarkasa serving as featured speakers.  The three-day event is led by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) and local and state organizations.

The conference’s theme, “Thirty Years Later: Continuing Challenges,” celebrates the history of the event with an eye to the future.  It focuses on the many aspects of the commonwealth’s African American heritage.

Organized by the Office of Admissions, Open House is an event that provides an opportunity for prospective students and their parents or guardians to meet with university faculty, staff, and students and to gain firsthand information about the university’s various academic programs and extracurricular activities.

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~ Langston Hughes Memorial Library will host a free six-part film viewing, reading and discussion series called “Looking At: Jazz, America’s Art Form.”  The library is one of 50 libraries and nonprofit organizations nationwide selected to participate in the project’s pilot program organized by Re:New Media in partnership with the American Library Association (ALA) and Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC).  The project is supported by a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and locally by the Hadley Memorial Fund of Kennett Square.
