Lincoln is offering musical scholarships to potential band and choir members.
Lincoln University, PA (www.lincoln.edu)—The Lincoln University Concert Choir and Concert Band are currently conducting on-campus auditions for students with singing and musical instrument talent. Students who earn a place on in the band or choir may be eligible for scholarships ranging between $1,000-$2,500 for the 2003-2004 academic year. Auditions began on June 2 and will continue through July 3.
Program Runs May 19-June 27, Targets Philadelphia-Area In-Service Teachers
Lincoln University, PA (www.lincoln.edu)— As part of its continuing mission to expand the number of teachers specializing in mathematics and science, Lincoln University’s Continuing Education Teaching Resource Center (CETRC) will kick off its summer program for Philadelphia-area, in-service instructors on May 17 from 9 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. at the University’s Center for Graduate and Continuing Education at 3020 Market Street in Philadelphia.
University will Award Honorary Degrees to Three Distinguished Achievers: An Award-Winning Corporate Executive and Educator; the Owner of the World-Famous Harlem Globetrotters Basketball Team; and the Co-Inventor of a Microcomputer System.
WHO: Elaine Brown, author of the books, A Taste of Power: A Black Woman’s Story and The Condemnation of Little B. Brown is also political activist and former chair of the Black Panther Party.
